Yahoo News Drake 'tells police to drop burglary case' against fan who broke into his home - but only stole water and soda
Drake has requested police drop a burglary case against a fan who broke into his multi-million dollar mansion.
The Canadian rapper reportedly contacted the Los Angeles County District Attorney via his lawyer to ‘make it clear he will not cooperate in any prosecution’ of the woman.
The 24-year-old fan managed to gain entry into his Hidden Hills property at 10.30 pm on April 3.
But she allegedly only stole the contents of his fridge.
Instead of making off with his expensive furnishings, the woman ‘helped herself’ to one of his hoodies, some fizzy drinks and a bottle of water.
According to TMZ, the Hotline Bling hitmaker ‘thinks it would be cruel to make her a felon’ on account of the incident.
The website also claims Drake believes she may suffer from ‘mental issues’.
It’s understood the fan, who insisted she had permission to enter the gated home, was confronted by a member of the rapper’s entourage.
LAPD officers were called and the woman was charged with a felony burglary and taken into custody.
It is yet to be established how she gained access to the gated home, or indeed how long she was inside before being discovered.
Drake originally purchased his Los Angeles home for $7.7 million from Saddle Ranch Chop House owner Larry Pollack in 2012.

According to property records he has since put the estate back on the market for close to $20 million.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, he admitted he had his heart set on the house years before he actually bought it.
‘I was like, “What are the world’s craziest residential pools?” and when I searched online, this came up,’ he explained.
‘This house was the desktop image on my computer years before I bought it.’
