This is the dramatic moment a group of anglers had to jump overboard to avoid being hit by a speedboat on a collision course.

A GoPro camera captured Marlin Lee Larsen’s 31-foot motorboat ploughing into Bryan Maess’ 20-foot fishing boat near the mouth of the Columbia river in Oregon.

Mr Maess and his friends Christopher McMahon and Roni Durham frantically waved their arms with one screaming “Oh my God” before jumping into the water.

The accident happened on August 12 and Mr Maess, a police officer, is now suing Mr Larsen for $372,500 (£270,000) for damage to his boat and injuries suffered by him and his passengers.

Mr Larsen, 75, who uses a mobility scooter, told investigators he crashed because he could not see the other boat.
