Dramatic scenes as armed police scrambled following 'disturbance' in Nelson
Armed police were scrambled last night (April 25) following reports of a disturbance in Nelson.
Shortly before 10pm, Barkerhouse Road was flooded with blue lights. A car had been brought to a halt by officers from Lancashire Constabulary.
Armed personnel, carrying rifles, could also be seen at the scene. Footage recorded by a witness shows them ordering an individual from a silver Ford Focus.
A white people carrier appears to have blocked the vehicle in before several other patrol cars arrived on the scene.
