Driver killed after 1.30am Shipley collision with tree as appeal launched

A driver has sadly died after a collision with a tree. Police said a 33-year-old man was driving a Honda Jazz when the tragedy unfolded.

It followed a road traffic crash on the A454, in Shipley, at 1.30am, on Sunday, June 30. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were unable to save him and he died at the scene.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with dashcam footage around the time of the collision is urged to get in touch.

A police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A454 in Shipley yesterday morning. At around 1.30am a Honda Jazz was travelling towards Rudge Heath when it left the road and collided with a tree.

"Despite best efforts from the emergency services the driver, a 33-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. We would like to hear from anybody who may have witnessed the collision or have dash cam footage from around the time it happened. Anyone who has any other information which may help with our investigation is asked to contact us on or 01743 261832."
