Driving offenders sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court last week

Drivers over the legal alcohol limit, a woman who failed to stop at the scene of an accident and a man who was caught driving whilst disqualified have all been sentenced by magistrates in Hull in recent days.

While some cases were adjourned to be tried at a later date, driving offenders from Hull and East Yorkshire were still handed suspended sentence orders, lengthy driving bans and hefty fines at Hull Magistrates' Court.

Here are several people who were sentenced for driving offences last week.

Lee Jay Hardy, 19, of Welshpool Close, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit, driving without insurance and driving without an appropriate licence. He was disqualified from driving for 16 months, fined £140 and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £56 victim services surcharge.

Kristjan Suits, 33, of Queens Road, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from driving for three years, fined £438 and ordered to pay a £175 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

John Loughlin, 43, of Sherburn Street, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was given a community order with the requirement to undertake unpaid work for 80 hours, disqualified from driving for 26 months and ordered to pay a £114 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Claire Ryan, 37, of Auburn Close, Bridlington pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road traffic accident and failing to report the accident. She received six points on her driving licence, fined £300 and ordered to pay a £120 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Tomas Gedminas, 31, of Sandford Close, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from driving for 22 months, fined £499 and ordered to pay a £200 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Stephen Taylor, 38, of 21st Avenue, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from driving for three years, given a 12-month suspended sentence order and ordered to pay a £154 victim services surcharge, £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and an £80 fine.

Steven High, 54, of Bodmin Road, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from driving for three years, fined £323 and ordered to pay a £129 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Leonard Bairam, 24, of Bristol Road, Hull pleaded guilty to driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, fined £320 and ordered to pay a £128 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
