A drunk driver who killed three boys as they walked to a friend’s 16th birthday party was told to ‘rot in hell’ as he was jailed for 13 years.

Jayness Chudasama, 28, was more than two-and-a-half times over the limit and driving at 71mph on a 60mph road in Hayes, west London, when he fatally crashed into the teenagers in January.

Chudasama, who also had traces of cannabis in his system, pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of semi-professional footballer Harry Rice, 17, apprentice electrician George Wilkinson, 16, and labourer Josh McGuinness, 16.

The three boys were in a group of eight friends as they walked to a party at Goals five-a-side football club when the incident occurred.

Chudasama was labelled a ‘coward’ by the friends and family members of the boys as they packed into the Old Bailey for his sentencing.

Josh’s mother Tracy Blackwell told Chudasama: ‘You are going to rot in hell, mate.’

Passing sentence, Judge Wendy Joseph QC said: ‘It is obvious that nothing any court can do can measure the loss of Josh, Harry and George for the obvious reason that their loss is immeasurable.’

The court previously heard how Chudasama, of Hayes, had swung his Audi out to overtake another car on Shepiston Lane when he lost control and hit the boys head-on.

They were thrown into the air as the defendant’s car spun around in the road three times.

Chudasama and his passenger got out and ran off, but they were pursued by two boys, who dragged the driver back to where their friends lay dying.

One of the teenagers later admitted he had hit Chudasama over the head with a bottle to stop him getting away.

The victims had been school friends from Harefield Academy in Uxbridge, the court heard.

Along with a jail sentence of 13 years, Chudasama has also been disqualified from driving for 13 years and six months.

Outside court, a crowd of protesters called for stiffer sentences for killer drivers.

Harry’s brother Matthew said: ‘I’m protesting because my brother was ruthlessly taken away with his two friends by a callous driver who got in a car knowing he was going to drive the vehicle under the influence.

‘He should not see the light of day – end of story.’

The maximum punishment for causing death by dangerous driving is 14 years in prison, but the court heard how Parliament is considering proposals for life sentences for the most serious cases.
