Dua Lipa faces backlash for attending Lizzo's post-Grammys bash at strip club
Dua Lipa is getting some online hate for attending a post-Grammys bash thrown by one of the night’s big winners, Lizzo.
The hashtag #DuaLipaIsOverParty trended Tuesday on Twitter after the Cuz I Love You songstress shared footage of Lipa dancing and throwing money on female strippers.
Lizzo had rented the venue, the Crazy Girls strip club in Los Angeles, to celebrate at after the awards show. She posted a clip of herself and another of the night’s top nominees, Lil Nas X, to Instagram Stories.

Singer Rosalía, named the winner in the category of Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album, and fashion designer Alexander Wang were there, too.
However, Lipa appeared to be the only one who was called out.
Her team did not immediately respond to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment.
Some people came to her defence. They questioned why she was being singled out for the negative attention, and they pointed out that there’s nothing wrong with an adult supporting the strippers.
So y’all mad because Dua Lipa, a whole grown woman, was turning up with her friends / peers at a strip club? Y’all mad because sis was helping some strippers make bank that night? And then y’all wonder why we say society is soft today #dualipaisoverparty pic.twitter.com/OCyj1ElYyr

The fact that soooo many people are cancelling Dua for going to a strip club....is hilarious. Why don’t you do the same for the other artists that do the exact same thing. #dualipaisoverparty pic.twitter.com/kD4n2kG3CJ

Checks for why #dualipaisoverparty is trending... Apparently, homegirl went to a strip club and people are mad at that.
Do you, girl. I've been to a strip club. Who cares. pic.twitter.com/cMRuuMERy7— Samantha Ponzillo (@sponzillotv) January 28, 2020
Lipa, who won the 2019 Grammy for Best New Artist, has yet to react on social media. She said in an interview with the BBC in November that she does sometimes drop into the comments section of Twitter and other platforms but she tries to do it in moderation.
“Social media can be such an amazing tool, and it can be so fun to share things, but at the same time it’s almost like a breeding ground for hate and anxiety,” Lipa said at the time.
Not that she has a lot of time these days. Lipa’s new song Physical comes out on Thursday 30 January. It is the third single from her upcoming second album, Future Nostalgia.
