Dua Lipa's legion of fans had a single gripe after her performance on the Pyramid Stage during Glastonbury 2024's opening night. The pop star left her followers disgruntled when she omitted one of her biggest hits - Barbie's Dance the Night - from her setlist. The song was demoted to a brief video interlude during a costume change, rather than being given a prime spot in the lineup. reports the Mirror.

Many fans took to social media to express their disappointment, labelling the decision as "criminal". One fan expressed: "Dua Lipa not singing the Dance the Night is criminal."

Another vented: "First tweet in nearly two years and it's to express my rage at #DuaLipa not singing Dance the Night during her headline set at #Glastonbury2024 Absolutely criminal." This omission has sparked rampant speculation online about why she chose to exclude it. It's worth noting that the track hasn't been performed at several other festivals prior to Glastonbury either.

Some fans theorise that she may want to distance herself from the track after its success overshadowed the release of her album Radical Optimism, which received lukewarm reviews. Others suggest that the track "caught the record label off guard" when it topped the UK charts, marking Dua Lipa's fourth number-one single in the country. In the US, the song reached number six on the Billboard Top 100, becoming the singer's fifth top-ten single there.

It's the lead single on the Barbie soundtrack. Dua co-wrote the hit with Mark Ronson during a hiatus from her year-long "Future Nostalgia" tour, and performed it at the Grammy's where it also received a nomination.
