Dumfries Camera Club hold end of season trophy competitions

Dumfries Camera Club members had a picture perfect night at their annual competition awards evening recently.

The winners will receive their trophies on May 8.

It has been a busy season at the club, with many visiting speakers and interesting judges.

Often the members take their turn to show and tell of their own interests in photography. Challenges are put to the members such as audio-visual presentations or panels of their pictures as well as the big exhibition that was held in Gracefield Arts Centre’s exhibition rooms, where the public got the chance to view and vote for their favourite panels.

The club’s aim is to bring together like minded people and help encourage newcomers to improve their photography.

The club’s new season starts on August 28 with guest speakers Coulson and Tennent (wearectproductions.com). The name of the presentation is The Art of Seeing and visitors and new members are welcome. Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries. For more information, visit www.dumfriescameraclub.co.uk.
