Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson reveals why he had his wedding so early in the morning

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has admitted he got married so early in the morning because he wanted to get the vows over with and enjoy the party.

The 47-year-old wrestler turned actor married his second wife Lauren Hashian at sunrise in Hawaii in August with their two daughters as flower girls. The Jumanji: The Next Level star was asked by Ellen DeGeneres on her show why his wedding photos were taken at 7.45am, given that the bride must have had to get up at 5am to have her hair and make-up done.

Johnson joked: “I had to work out. I had the 8 o’clock workout. Only kidding!”

He went on: “We had an early morning wedding in Hawaii on the cliffs there in Kauai and it was very private and it was the best. It truly was the best.

“We wanted to have an early-morning wedding, that way we said the vows, get it over with, then by 10, 11 o'clock, we're hanging, we're having brunch with the family, and we had it done.”

He added: “Plus in Hawaii at the time it’s beautiful – with my ancestors watching over us, it was truly a magical, magical time.”

The couple’s daughters Jasmine, three and Tiana, one, were flower girls at the ceremony.

Johnson also has a 17-year-old daughter, Simone Alexandra, with ex-wife Dany Garcia.

Johnson met Hashian in 2006 while filming The Game Plan and they began dating a year later when he split from Garcia.

Johnson is clearly a fan of weddings, as he recently revealed that he and Danny DeVito gatecrashed a wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, while in town to promote Jumanji: The Next Level.

Johnson said: “I’ve never crashed a wedding, but with Devito this was truly UNFORGETTABLE.

“We were sippin’ on a lil’ Teremana tequila enjoyin’ the quiet sunset together in Mexico after a long week of Jumanji work when this idea hit. Crash the wedding. Grab a mic. Sing a special song. Say adios.”
