Eamonn Holmes brushed off the negative chatter as he engaged with fans following his post of a nostalgic photo with his dear friend Linda Lusardi.

The TV veteran recently took to social media to post a side-by-side image from 1982 and 2024, showcasing his enduring friendship with Lusardi. "1982 v 2024 and she hasn't changed a bit. My wonderful, close friend Linda Lusardi who I went to see today. 42-year friendship," he captioned, expressing his pride.

This sparked curiosity among followers about his marriage to Ruth Langsford, leading them to flood the comments with inquiries about his wife's absence. Eamonn, however, chose to acknowledge only the positive remarks, replying with prayer hands emojis to a fan's compliment: "You're both still looking fabulous!".

When one user remarked, "One of you hasn't aged a bit," Eamonn responded with a grateful "thank you". Another added: "You haven't changed either Eamonn," prompting him to quip back, "If only," accompanied by laughing emojis, reports the Mirror.

Despite many probing questions regarding Ruth's whereabouts, Eamonn remained focused on the supportive messages.

A concerned follower asked: "Where is your beautiful wife Ruth? Why or what are you trying to prove! " while another echoed: "Where was poor Ruth."

Yet, a supportive fan countered the speculation, suggesting: "'Trying to prove' or simply sharing a picture of a long-term friendship that's lasted all these years .. how do you know it wasn't Ruth taking the picture.."[sic].

A supporter retorted: "Why see the negative in this? They have been friends for 42 years! Amazing achievement!!" Another jumped to Eamonn's defence, remarking: "He's showing what a good friendship they have! Why do some idiots always have to be negative, derogatory, accusatory and insinuate things? For nothing better to do? Obviously not." [sic].

There has been recent murmurings among followers due to a distinct absence of sightings of Eamonn and Ruth together. A fan theory evolved when Eamonn posted a family photograph last month where Ruth was notably absent from the pleasant picture.

The host of GB News revealed an image featuring his oldest son - with ex-wife Gabriele from whom he parted ways in 1994 - along with his wife and children commemorating a christening. However, a few days later, Eamonn decided to share a nostalgic image of him and his wife joyfully posing together.

The treasured photograph, dating back to May 2018, displays the pair sharing a heartwarming smile together.
