Eamonn Holmes' celebrity friends says 'we're looking out for him' after 'awful lot' he's been through

Friends of Eamonn Holmes are rallying with support following a worrying health development and an unexpected announcement regarding his personal life.

The 64-year-old GB News presenter has had a troubling time health-wise with recent back surgery taking an nasty turn. On top of that, he was taken aback by Ruth Langsford, soon to be his ex-wife, publicly declaring their separation.

Eamonn and Ruth have been together for 27 years and married for 14 of them. Reports suggest Ruth wasn't happy after finding out Eamonn was finding consolation in an unidentified female friend amid the disintegration of their marriage.

Isabel Webster, 41 and a co-worker and companion of Eamonn's, told the Mirror at London's TRIC Awards: "He's gone through an awful lot and we are just all 100 per cent behind him. Today will be really nice for him and for all of us."

When questioned if she's looking after the broadcaster, she said: "As his friend, but we're all very professional, all businesslike as well. But yes, I'm looking out for him, as are all of the team.

"It's hard for anyone going through anything to be up at 3 in the morning."

Reflecting on his recent outing at the star-studded awards ceremony, she added: "He's fine, he's here, he's excited for today. The man never stops, he blows me away. It's really impressive," reports the Mirror.

Isabel, who works with Eamonn on GB News, also shed light on the rumours that he was offered a hefty sum to join Celebrity Big Brother.

"Eamonn was in the papers that he was asked to Celeb Big Brother," she said. "That was news to him!"

It seems Eamonn's attendance at the event was fruitful as he and Isabel left with an award in hand. In his speech to the audience, he expressed gratitude, saying: "Thank you very much for this award. We were up against world-class programmes and that makes it a little bit more special.

"Sometimes we all think about imposter syndrome. I went for an operation a year and a half ago and it went wrong. I got two things in my back that I didn't want."

In a statement last month, representatives for Eamonn and his estranged wife announced: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."
