Eamonn Holmes opens up on 'hellish' recovery from fall
Eamonn Holmes has said he has been through "hell" as he recovers from a fractured shoulder after suffering a fall at home.
The 62-year-old former This Morning host – who was already absent from GB News after undergoing back surgery – said he will have to take further time off work, but he is gradually improving.
Holmes told GB News: "Last month I suffered a fall at home while I was recovering from my back operation and fractured my shoulder.

"It was a massive setback and means I'm going to need to take some extra time off to get myself better. It's been a hellish few weeks. But day by day I'm improving and I am remaining positive and trying to look on the bright side.”
The former GMTV presenter – who is married to Loose Women star Ruth Langsford – began hosting GB News show Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel alongside Isabel Webster in January 2022.
He said: “I can't wait to get back to work at GB News and do what I love most, presenting the news and discussing the issues of the day."
Webster added: "It has been heartbreaking to see him in so much pain. Eamonn has had such a run of bad luck, and to suffer in the way he has been.
“But I also know how hard he is working to get back to his best. I can’t wait to see him return, fighting fit, and back where he belongs - sitting alongside me on GB News.”
Holmes announced in September he would be taking a leave of absence from GB News as a flare up in his back required urgent medical attention and doctors had advised him to rest.

Holmes has spoken openly about his battle with chronic pain in recent years and had an operation on his spine on Wednesday 28 September.
He added: "One thing I've noticed is just how many other people out there are suffering from chronic pain, and I am determined to keep speaking up on their behalf."
The TV star has three slipped discs in his back caused by a dislocated pelvis and has suffered ongoing problems for the past few years as a result, including chronic pain and insomnia.
The TV star said his pelvis "mysteriously" dislocated in 2021 and put his back out of alignment as a result.
Holmes underwent a double hip replacement in 2016. The surgery was carried out in a bid to tackle excruciating hip, leg and back pain he had secretly suffered for more than 20 years.
