Early Geminids Meteor Shoots Over Mexico City, Acapulco

An early meteor from the Geminids shower shot across the sky over Mexico in the early morning hours of December 8, passing over Mexico City, Acapulco, and the Popocatepetl volcano.

The height of the Geminids meteor shower is due to take place December 13 and 14, according to reports. The shower is produced by a comet/asteroid known as 3200 Phaeton. The Geminids get their name because they appear to come from a radiant in the constellation Gemini. Credit: webcamsdemexico via Storyful
