East Kilbride complete Reegan Mimnaugh signing as boss 'rates midfielder highly'

East Kilbride have completed the signing of midfielder Reegan Mimnaugh.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper one year after turning down the club. Mimnaugh was a target for Kilby last summer but League One Queen of the South pipped the Lowland League champions to his signature.

However, Kennedy has finally got his man as the club confirmed his arrival at K-Park.

Mimnaugh becomes Kilby’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of midfielder Jack Leitch, winger Broque Watson and centre-back Jordan McGregor earlier in the month.

And Kilby boss Mick Kennedy told Lanarkshire Live Sport : “Reegan is a fantastic signing for us. We tried to sign him last summer and we just couldn’t get it over the line that time, so we are delighted to get him in, this time.

“He is somebody who I have a lot of admiration for. I rate him really highly so I think he will be a great signing for us. We were that far down the line with Reegan last summer that we thought the deal was done but these things never are until somebody puts pen to paper. But it’s done this time, we’ve shaken hands and he is an East Kilbride player.

“That is the centre-midfielder done and now it is just a case of getting a new centre-forward and a centre-half in, then that will be us in terms of signings I would think.”

Mimnaugh made just 11 appearances for the Doonhamers under former boss Marvin Bartley last season, as an injury in September brought his campaign to an abrupt halt. He underwent surgery at the start of the year and is now fit and raring to go.

Meanwhile, two players have gone out the door at K-Park with midfielder Jonny Lyon and centre-back Cameron Eadie, who both played nine games for Kilby in the Lowland League last season, joining West of Scotland League side Johnstone Burgh.

A club statement read: “East Kilbride Football Club can confirm that both Jonathan Lyon and Cameron Eadie have joined West Of Scotland Premier Division side, Johnstone Burgh.

“The club would like to thank both players for their services over the past year and wish them every success for the future.”
