East Lothian woman 'seriously injured' and two others hospitalised following crash

A woman is in hospital with "serious injuries" following a collision in East Lothian.

The 28-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh after a crash on Ormiston Road in Tranent. The incident happened just after 7.45pm on June 15.

A 68-year-old woman and 87-year-old man were also taken to hospital. The road was closed for some time as emergency services attended to the collision.

The crash involved a grey Lexus RX350 and a red Kia Sportage. Police are appealing for witnesses, as they continue to establish the circumstances.

Road Policing Sergeant Allan Russell said: “Our investigation into this collision is ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information to get in touch.

"We would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle before the collision occurred. If anyone has any dashcam footage from the area, please let us know.”
