EastEnders' Aunt Babe Is The Latest Character To Leave The Soap

Yet another EastEnders’ exit has been announced, with Annette Badland, who plays nasty Aunt Babe, set to bow out of Albert Square next year.

Blimey, they really are dropping like flies, aren’t they?

Annette has played manipulative Aunt Babe on the hit soap since 2013 and has been involved in many big storylines, including orchestrating Abi Branning’s fake pregnancy and blackmailing Pam and Les Coker.

However, the character isn’t going to get her comeuppance as show bosses have confirmed that the door will be open for Babe to return in the future, with an insider explaining: “Prior to living in The Vic, Aunt Babe was seen coming and going from The Square with her own life away from Walford.

“She will still very much be in the wings and could well continue to cause aggro for the Carter family.”

EastEnders’ cast members are apparently on edge as new boss, Sean O’Connor, continues to axe much-loved characters, and it looks as though absolutely nobody is safe.

A BBC source shared: “The rumours on set are that despite so many cast members leaving, many more will be following them.

“And understandably that has created a lot of concern. Several of the actors are waiting with bated breath, convinced that Sean’s axe will start swinging again.”

Other characters to have been axed from the soap in recent weeks includes Claudette Hubbard, Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell, Buster Briggs, Pam and Les Coker, Kyle Slater, Masood Ahmed, and Lee Carter.

Fan favourites, Linda Carter and Sonia Fowler, are also temporarily leaving the soap as they go on maternity leave.
