EastEnders fans are convinced Britney's real-dad is Zack Hudson. The troubled teen was introduced earlier this year when Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and Zack (James Farrar) visited Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) in Milton Keynes.

Britney, played by Lola Campbell, caught the eye of pregnant Whitney after she was seen looking through rubbish bins for food. Wanting to look after the schoolgirl, Whitney is now illegally fostering Britney as they return to Albert Square - but Zack is yet to find out the truth.

There was more upset for Whitney earlier this week when she discovered Britney has Usher Syndrome, meaning she will loose her eyesight and hearing with symptoms of the condition worsening already showing.

Zack was very reluctant to take Britney under his wing as she seemed troubled, and he wanted girlfriend Whitney focus on the forthcoming arrival of their baby. But he has since appeared to be warming to her.

In what would be an jaw-dropping twist of fate, EastEnders viewers are convinced that Zack is actually Britney's dad.

Taking to social media to share the wild theory, one fan wrote on an EastEnders Facebook fan page: “Just a thought? Anyone get the impression that Brittany's mum and Zack had a past? Possible that's why they get real awkward?

"Think Brittany is his and that's why he's real ashamed because of Brittany's mum and he hadn't been around. That's the impression I'm starting to get. He just doesn't want to cause any stress to Whitney through this pregnancy?”

Another agreed and simply wrote: "Anything possible". A third penned: "He wasn’t like the way he was around them fostering that young boy recently, so I don’t understand to why he gets so uptight about Brittany?

“There has to be a reason and I don’t think it’s all down to Brittany or that Whitney is pregnant. There’s definitely something more to it. It’s soap land where anything can happen."

EastEnders airs Monday - Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
