Strictly Come Dancing star Jayde Adams has spoken about her disappointment over her TV show being axed. Jayde, who is a comedian and took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, has said her ITV show Ruby Speaking is not being renewed for a second series.

In a lengthy statement on Instagram Jayde said "it's always disappointing" and that the TV industry is "so unpredictable". She said: "Apologies to say, but Ruby Speaking isn't getting another series... Yes, I did buy three billboards in Bristol to promote it and bugged you all in January to watch it again but that's TV for you, so unpredictable.

"I've lived by a personal philosophy for the entirety of my career. It's always disappointing when things don't work out the way you want them to, the failure you could feel about not getting that opportunity you want, but there is "no art without failure" so essentially failure doesn't exist.

"What I learned making Ruby Speaking has made me a stronger artist, we didn't get the commission but the experience has strengthened me hugely. I'm taking away so much."

During her time on Strictly Come Dancing Jayde was partnered with professional dancer Karen Hauer and they lasted five weeks in the competition. Ruby Speaking was a comedy series following the main character Ruby, who was played by Jayde, and her life working in a call centre.

Soap star Katherine Kelly also appeared in the series and she commented on the post: "Jayde Adams, this is the beginning. Not the end. Love ya xx" with a love heart emoji. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.
