Billy commends Jay for sticking by Lola while she faces her gruelling medical treatment. And Jay then lets him on a secret: he’s going to propose to her.
With the help of Ben, Jay then organises an outdoor Christmas miracle and asks for Lola’s hand in marriage. Will she say, 'yes'?
Alfie’s Santa plan backfires
Alfie wants to create a magical Christmas for Kat, his big idea being to dress as Santa and abseil from the roof of the Mitchells’ house. Inside, however, Bert has let slip to Phil that Kat has told Alfie he can stay with them until New Year.
Later Phil goes outside to see Alfie stuck on the roof, but it’s Kat who ends up helping her ex back inside. And there’s further friction ahead when Phil finds out what went on in his home while he was away.
Phil goes AWOL
In the wake of Phil making those discoveries as regards Alfie (see above), the local hardman goes missing, and Kat is left desperately trying to find out what’s going on.
Sam eventually tracks Phil down at Peggy’s, but she’s shocked by what she sees and tries to convince Phil to give Kat another chance. Later on, Sam spots Kat and insists that Phil is loyal to her – and trust, Sam says, should go both ways.
But Sam is conscious that Phil mustn’t find out about what she got up to in Spain.
Zack charms Whitney
Zack will find himself in Whitney’s good books when he kindly offers to cook her dinner, and she’s left impressed not only by the food but his foot massage too.
Chelsea and Felix interrupt just as the pair are growing closer, and while Whitney gets changed, they tell Zack to go for it with Whit. Will he take their advice?
Disaster for the Fox-Brannings
There’s culinary chaos for the Fox-Brannings as Kim takes control of the Christmas dinner and manages to destroy the food.
Denise’s plan is to go with Raymond to the Mitchells’ and throw themselves on their mercy, but Kim doesn’t want to be seen begging for scraps from Phil.
In the end, though, Denise wins the argument – and with no shortage of bickering and drama, this newly blended family somehow manage to make a success of their unconventional Christmas celebrations.
Romance for Jean and Harvey
Finally, Freddie and Jean will be seen having a board game night, which also results in Bobby being roped in, too.
But during the evening, Harvey arrives and the boys ditch him and Jean in favour of an underground party in Hackney. The result for Jean and Harvey being that they have a lovely evening together – and even end up sharing a kiss.
