EastEnders fans are predicting an explosive comeback for killer Bobby Beale following his brief cameo appearance last night.

Ian's son Bobby appeared via a video from his prison cell in the latest development of Max Branning's deplorable revenge scheme.

The footage – which showed one of Bobby's prison inmates taunting him in jail – was used to scare Jane into leaving Walford without her husband Ian.

The threat to Bobby's safety is undoubtedly the reason why Jane decides to go through with Max's demands later this week, but speculation has been rife on Twitter ever since the child killer made a brief comeback.

Bobby was jailed for three years last June for murdering his sister Lucy and attacking his step-mum Jane, but has been referenced quite a bit on screen in recent months.

Ian has also been discussing the fact that his son's release is coming up next year – leaving fans to wonder if Bobby's return could coincide with the climax to Max's ongoing revenge plot.

The youngster returning as Max's awful schemes with James Willmott-Brown come to a head would be a clever way to bring the story full circle – given that it started with Max going to prison for a crime Bobby committed.

Young actor Eliot Carington reprised his role for the cameo appearance last night – surprising viewers with how much he'd grown up since we last saw him on screen.

EastEnders continues tomorrow night (October 19) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
