EastEnders' favourite to die in horror gas explosion that will expose Max Branning

Hankies at the ready – it has been confirmed that at least one EastEnders’ favourite will die in a tragic gas explosion that will leave several other characters fighting for their lives.

The devastating fire will also expose Max Branning’s sinister scheme to destroy Walford, with the event taking place during the much-discussed ‘Walford In Bloom’ event.

The entire community will be gathered in the streets to celebrate the event, which will come to a devastating end.

Speaking to The Sun, a source shared: “It’s a bold stunt and has taken months of planning. It’ll trigger a load of other storylines off the back of it, but the explosion itself will be a major talking point.

“Viewers will be left wondering whether it was set off on purpose or by accident, and bosses are staying tight-lipped about who will die but at least one is looking like they will.

“Fans will be hoping it’s not one of their favourites who is being killed off.”

During Albert Square’s darkest hour, residents will finally twig that Max has been up to no good although it is not yet known what his comeuppance will be.

Although the fate of specific characters off the back of the explosion is unknown, one of the likely victims could be Steven Beale, with actor Aaron Sidwell confirming that he is leaving the BBC One soap earlier this month.

Steven is currently lying to his fiancee, Lauren Branning, about having a brain tumour, with Max warning that he only has “three months to live” after learning of the character’s shocking lie.

Meanwhile, Johnny Carter is also thought to be at risk of death, with the cast being spotted filming devastating scenes on location that showed an ambulance crash whilst Johnny was being rushed to hospital.

One thing’s for sure, let’s hope that this explosion is much less anticlimactic than EastEnders’ bus crash earlier this year…
