EastEnders will kick off Whitney Dean's exit story next week, as Bianca Jackson returns.
Shona McGarty is bowing out of her role as Whitney after 15 years. Patsy Palmer is reprising her role as her step-mother Bianca for part of the story, which will begin in next week's scenes.
In two special episodes that explore the past five weeks, Whitney and Zack arrive in Milton Keynes to visit Bianca.
Upon arriving, they are immediately met with discontent from two local children, Britney and Taylor.
As they catch up, Whitney tells Bianca about her pregnancy, but asks her to keep this from Sonia.
A few weeks later, Whitney starts to form a connection with Britney after she and her brother join the family for dinner at Bianca's.
Whitney soon grows concerned for Britney when she finds her rifling through the bins for food. This prompts Bianca to explains that Britney's mother Keeley struggles with drug addiction.
Two days later, Bianca invites Britney and Taylor inside, after finding the pair locked out of their flat.
A furious Whitney heads to Keeley's to demand an explanation.
In the present day, Zack and Bianca attempt to convince Whitney to return to Walford.
However, Whitney's priority is still with Britney and she visits her school, where she is shocked to discover that Britney hasn't been enrolled since 2020.
Whitney arrives back at Bianca's and is surprised to be greeted by Sonia.
Things soon go from bad to worse when Whitney spots a gash on Britney's leg and heads to Keeley's to confront her.
The situation quickly gets out hand and Britney makes a dash for it.
Whitney follows and tries to get her to slow down, but when Britney accidentally steps out in front of a speeding car, Whitney pushes her out of the way – getting hit in the process.
Zack, Bianca and Sonia rush to Whitney's aid, as she lies semi-conscious on the floor.
Whitney is rushed to hospital alongside Sonia, Zack and Bianca, who all worry about the baby's safety as she waits for an ultrasound.
There is relief all round when the doctors confirm that the baby is fine and Whitney is later discharged from hospital.
Whitney and Zack head back to Bianca's after this, where they now learn that Keeley has been arrested for drug dealing, and Britney has gone missing.
Ignoring Bianca's advice, Whitney heads out in search of Britney, until Zack calls to let her know she has been found.
With Whitney determined to look after Britney while the social workers sort out official plans, she finds herself clashing with Zack – who wants her to come back to Walford with him.
Zack fails to meet her halfway on this and decides to head back to the Square without her.
Once Zack has left, Whitney heads to Keeley's to share some home truths about her parenting.
Keeley reasons that if Whitney really cared about Britney, she would take her off her hands. What will Whitney do?
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
