EastEnders has stunned viewers with another twist in its murder storyline, as the weapon used to kill Keanu Taylor went missing.

Keanu, played by Danny Walters, was offed in a Christmas plot that had fans of the BBC soap gripped. He was stabbed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) as she tried to stop him strangling Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), with the pair and four other Walford ladies - Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) - making a pact to cover it up.

However, the secret has started to unravel, with Linda spilling the beans to son Johnny (Charlie Suff).

What, how, and why?

And things took an even darker turn in Monday’s instalment (19 February), when Johnny told the group – known as ‘The Six’ – that the murder weapon had vanished. They were fuming about Linda revealing what they’d done, until Johnny told them they had an even bigger worry.

“We’ve got a problem,” he said. “My mum isn’t the one you all need to be worried about.”

“Problem? What kind of problem?” asked Linda, as Kathy chimed in: “What do you mean she isn’t the one we should all be worried about?” “The weapon in her room,” replied Johnny. “It’s not there.”

While Johnny pointed the finger at The Six, suggesting one of them had swiped it, lots of fans are now convinced that it’s Dean (Matt Di Angelo), who was spotted at the Queen Vic on the night of the murder.

What did viewers say?

“Dean 1000% has that weapon!!!” said one person on X. “That will be the best part of the storyline because I’m still adamant he never left The Vic that night!!”

“I bet Dean’s got the weapon,” said someone else. “Dean has got the weapon I swear!” said another viewer.

“He never left the barrel store and witnessed the whole murder. After The Six left The Vic to bury Keanu, he went upstairs and took the weapon from under the bed.” “Gotta be Dean who took it as he was upstairs that night,” said another fan.

However, there are some who think it could actually be Johnny, and that he could use it to try and frame Dean, who previously raped Linda.

“Prediction - Johnny has the weapon and will use it to frame Dean,” one person posted. Another agreed: “ Johnny has taken the weapon and intends to plant it on Dean, that’s my theory!”
