Yahoo News EastEnders' Phil realises Sharon's baby isn't his
EastEnders aired a huge twist in the ongoing Sharon Mitchell saga tonight (December 12) – as Phil finally realised he wasn't the father of her baby.
Thursday night's game-changing episode saw Sharon's web of deceit start to come unstuck once again, when Phil decided to do some detective work.
The BBC soap had already revealed that Phil (Steve McFadden) would be gunning for revenge by the time Christmas arrives, but exact details on what – and when – aroused his suspicions had been kept under wraps until transmission.
Sharon (Letitita Dean) has spent the best part of the year trying to cover up her scandalous affair with Keanu Taylor – and the fact he's the father of her unborn child.
Recent episodes have seen Sharon tell Lisa Fowler the truth, quietly confident that she wouldn't tell Louise or Phil.
Believing her secret was safe, Sharon made another attempt to get Phil on side by suggesting a DNA test tonight, but was unsurprisingly relieved when he refused.
Happy to have everything back on track, Phil headed to The Vic to celebrate but was soon hit by another bombshell from Dennis, who confirmed he hadn't had a parents' evening earlier in the week.
Determined to find out what was going on, Phil took matters into his own hands and searched through her sat nav, where he learned that she'd actually visited Lisa at the clinic instead.
As he started to put the pieces together, Phil later revealed to Ben that Sharon is lying to him and the baby wasn't his.
Spoilers for upcoming episodes have confirmed that Phil only knows half the story – and will wrongly accuse Jack Branning of being Sharon's mystery man.
