EastEnders will revisit Stacey Fowler's history with Max Branning as he embarks on a fling with her best friend Ruby Allen next week.
Ruby (Louisa Lytton) has already been named as Max's latest love interest, paving the way for fresh drama between her and Stacey – who shares a long and complicated history with him.
Stacey (Lacey Turner) will step in to support a broken Max at the start of the week, but will struggle to control her jealousy when she realises that he has struck up a romantic connection with Ruby.
Upcoming scenes will see Max (Jake Wood) hit rock bottom when his mission to find his baby granddaughter Abi reaches a dead end.
With Stacey determined to help, she gets tough with Max and delivers some stern advice, but is left even more unsettled when she makes a worrying discovery.
As Max completely breaks down in front of Stacey, she's forced to miss her romantic meal with Martin, but is left pleasantly surprised by how understanding he is when she explains why.
However, as Stacey continues to look after Max, she's stunned when he makes a shocking admission. As Stacey reels from Max's revelation, they are unaware that Martin is secretly furious and is glaring at Max’s house from across the Square.
When Stacey arrives home the following day, she is determined to make it up to Martin – who is forced to stifle his growing anger.
Unable to shake off her concerns about Max completely, Stacey heads back over to his house but is shocked to find Ruby there as well.
Although Ruby is confused at Stacey's reaction to seeing her with Max, she's left feeling awkward when he explains their history and makes a quick exit. But how will Stacey react if Max and Ruby decide to carry on seeing each other?
