EastEnders spoilers: Janine and Mick’s wedding day crisis, plus Phil’s return leaves Kat angry
Shirley knows Janine is hiding something on EastEnders next weeek, but can she stop her wedding to Mick? Plus, Phil is back home – but does Kat really want to be with Alfie?

Shirley needs to know Janine’s secret
Monday’s episode will see Shirley overhearing Janine making secret arrangements on the phone with someone called Steve.
Later on, Janine confides in Scarlett that they’ll be leaving the pub, but her daughter worries that their lives will be ruined should Mick discover Janine’s lie. Janine then says that Mick must never know – but she’s unaware that Shirl has also overheard elements of this conversation.

The following day, Shirley tries to quiz Scarlett about what Janine is concealing, but fails in her mission. But her suspicions are aroused further when she spots Janine making another furtive call.
That evening, Shirley decides to watch Die Hard, and Scarlett is horrified when the incriminatory photo featuring Frankie and Janine falls from the case. Scarlett grabs it and hides the snap in her diary, but has she been seen?
Mick and Janine’s wedding day drama
On the eve of her wedding, Janine will be helped with her dress by Sonia, who tells her that she doesn’t have to get married just because she’s pregnant.
Linda, meanwhile, is advising Shirley to drop her vendetta and accept Mick’s marriage. Shirley, though, is sure that Janine is up to something dodgy – but does she have enough evidence to halt the nuptials?
However, as the day of the ceremony dawns, it’s Linda who’ll be seen offering Mick a final way out of his wedding to Janine. But what decision will he end up making as the bride awaits his arrival at the register office?
More bad news for Lola
When Lola and Jay go to see the specialist about the clinical trial that Ben has found, they discover that it’s too soon to pursue this option and that miracles rarely happen. Crushed, Jay then tells Ben that he needs to make this Christmas unforgettable as it could be the last that he and Lola spend together.
Wednesday’s drama then finds Lola and Lexi plaiting each other’s hair. But when a clump of her mum’s hair comes out in her hand, Lexi is horrified while Lola is left contemplating the dark future ahead of her.
Yet by Thursday, it feels as though Lola has had a change of heart, as she’s seen approaching Denise and asking to come back to work. Despite her prognosis, she’s not going down without a fight.
Kat is caught between Alfie and Phil
Kat steps in to play Snow White in the panto after Honey falls ill, so Alfie makes some last-minute changes to the script so he can plant a kiss on her. But after the show, Kat demands that Alfie explain himself about his plan for a snog when she’d expressly said no.
Privately, though, Kat is feeling conflicted and confides in Stacey about her confusion over Alfie and Phil. And her emotions are heightened further when Alfie makes a grand gesture – all of which leads to Kat agreeing that they can have a magical Moon Christmas together as a family.
But no sooner has all this been arranged than Phil arrives home – with Kat left angry when she discovers exactly why he’s back…
Denzel’s gift makes Amy happy
A cash-strapped Denzel wants to get Amy a Christmas present, so Patrick suggests a mix tape.
After initially scorning the idea, Denzel eventually embraces the plan and makes a playlist for Amy, which leaves her thrilled. And Patrick later tells Howie that Denzel’s happiness is down to his advice.
Zack has news of a Walford returnee
Linda is left unhappy when Zack informs her that Jada has offered to bring Alyssa to Sharon’s for Christmas Day.
Zack then reminds Linda just how much Sharon misses her granddaughter. And conscious of the bad blood that exists between her and Jada, Linda angrily says that she’ll make herself scarce on the big day.
