Coronation Street spoilers: Shock burglary could ruin Christmas, Jacob’s dad Damon makes demands

Jacob’s dad Damon makes an impression
Jacob turns his dad Damon down when he invites him for a drink and explains to Amy that he’s a waste of space and hasn’t been in his life for years.

Under Amy’s orders, though, we’ll see Jacob reluctantly meet with his father, who’s angry to hear how Harvey got him dealing drugs and put him in hospital. But Jacob can’t help but be resentful of Damon’s cushy life in Ibiza, despite his dad’s assurances that he wants to make things up to him.
Wednesday’s drama will also see Damon calling in at the Bistro, and Nick is left explaining to Leanne that this newcomer has lent them money to get them back on their feet. In return, Damon now wants Nick to give Jacob a job. But will Leanne agree?
Will Daisy and Daniel reconcile?
Daisy is refusing to talk to Daniel, arguing that he’s too weak to be of any support. But Adam forms a plan and advises her to read an article that Daniel has been writing.
Daisy is then moved when she reads Daniel’s words about her helping him to love again after loss and rebuild his life. But will this be enough for the two of them to reconcile? And when Daniel discovers that his article hasn’t made the grade with the publishers and won’t see the light of day, will he be convinced to take up teaching again?
Burglary at No 1
The cash is being very much splashed as Daniel shows Jenny the engagement ring he’s bought as a surprise for Daisy. Damon, meanwhile, hands Jacob £500 and tells him to buy Amy something pricey for Christmas.
But later on, Steve, Tracy, Daniel and Daisy return to No 1 and are left horrified to discover that all the Christmas presents have disappeared from under the tree. As Steve reports the robbery to the police, Daniel is left having to tell Jenny about the burglars stealing the ring.
Spider does some digging on Griff
Spider is left feeling uneasy when Griff invites Max on a camping trip and so decides to do some digging, eventually discovering the identity of Griff’s financial backer.
Max, though, will be seen on Wednesday heading off with Griff on the trip, despite David’s objections, but things don’t turn out as expected. And, once home, Griff is forced to convince Max that he needs to lie about what happened while they were away.
Will Tyrone’s plans be ruined?
When Fiz suggests that they book a cottage in the Lakes for Christmas, Tyrone starts to fret that his wedding plans will be ruined.
By the week’s end, cold water will have been poured over Fiz’s scheme and she’s left lamenting to Maria that this is destined to be the worst Christmas ever. And when Tyrone is forced to cancel the family’s plans to go to the cinema (so that the girls can go to a dress fitting), Fiz is disappointed further. Let’s hope she’ll be all smiles by the time 25 December rolls round…
George’s surprise for Eileen
George feels he needs to get Eileen a much better Christmas present after last year’s funeral plan debacle.
But when Laurence offers to help Eileen find a new sofa, George tries to quash the idea. Why? Because, as he secretly explains, he’s bought a new sofa for Eileen as a surprise gift and needs help getting rid of the old one. On Friday, George will then be seen banning Eileen from returning home as he’s awaiting delivery of her present – and she help can’t but be impressed by his efforts.
Romance for Mary and Brian?
Finally, Glenda reveals that she’s no longer free to go carol singing, so Mary asks Brian to join her.
Mary’s delighted when he agrees and Brian gazes at her fondly. But will they end up making beautiful music together?
