EastEnders' spoilers: Self destruction and shock revelations - the week ahead in Walford

It’s safe to say that last week’s batch of EastEnders’ episodes ended with a bang, with viewers stunned and even a bit outraged when Mick Carter kissed his former daughter-in-law Whitney, cheating on his beloved wife Linda.

Unsurprisingly, this week is set to be just as dramatic, with Whitney’s turmoil over the smooch being just one of the big storylines that the BBC have in store.

Steven’s obsession with Lauren has reached crunch point.

Here’s what to expect from Walford over the next few days:

Jack Branning has no choice but to take drastic action when Charlie confronts him in the playground and tells him that he has contacted social services about applying for residency of Matthew. Max is horrified when he discovers Jack’s desperate plan and tries to talk him out of it. Then, Jack is left stunned by a surprise arrival.

Meanwhile, Patrick is finally back from his seriously long holiday, and Denise is so relieved to see him that she bursts into tears and finally reveals that she is penniless and starving. Later, Patrick has a go at Kim for not realising Denise’s plight and Kim sits her big sister down to offer her support, coming up with a surprise proposal to help out her dire money situation.

Elsewhere, Steven Beale’s stalking of girlfriend Lauren reaches crunch point when he researches ways to track her, installing an app on his phone so that he can follow her every movement. He then plans a romantic meal for himself and his girlfriend but is left fuming when her boss Josh shows up. Steven insists that Josh stays for dinner and leaves everybody uncomfortable with his over-enthusiastic attitude.

Over at the Vic, Whitney is left in a state after her recent encounter with Mick, and Johnny’s concern for her begins to grow – will she spiral out of control? The Carters also have drama to deal with when they have to present their detailed business plan to Fi, will she approve of it? Or will the family have to make even more changes to keep her happy?
