Yahoo News EastEnders stalker shock as Steven films Lauren at work
EastEnders will air more dark turns for Steven Beale next week as his ongoing paranoia over his girlfriend Lauren Branning reaches new heights.
Steven (Aaron Sidwell) has spent weeks tracking Lauren's movements via her phone, worried that he is losing grip on her now she's got a new job at Weyland & Co.
With Steven now convinced that Lauren is cheating on him with her boss Josh Hemmings, he's keener than ever to keep an eye on her – even discovering a new way to track her antics at work.
Of course, viewers know that it's not just his stalker behaviour that Steven is hiding as Friday's episode saw him cheat on Lauren by sleeping with her sister Abi.
Things will remain tense between the pair in upcoming scenes, but Abi will try and worm her way back to Steven next week – despite his insistence that what happened between them meant nothing.
But when Abi later realises that Steven is tracking Lauren's phone, she spots another opportunity to cause trouble – suggesting that she would make a better girlfriend than her sibling.
However, Abi's words inadvertently give Steven another idea to keep an eye on Lauren – and he later purchases a camera in the form of a phone charger, in a bid to stalk her when she's at the office.
As Steven puts his plan in action – switching Lauren's phone charger over – Abi soon learns of his new intentions and questions why he is bothering when he could have her instead.
But despite Abi's efforts, Steven insists he wants to be with Lauren no matter what – later spying on her while Josh invites her out for a drink.
As the week continues, Steven continues to spy on Lauren as she gets closer to Josh at work. Will he regret his actions?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday July 3, Tuesday July 4 and Friday July 7 on BBC One.
