Former EastEnders star Danielle Harold returns to our screens on Saturday night (April 13) for a soaps special of BBC One's Celebrity Bridge of Lies.

Danielle, who's best known for her role as Walford's Lola Pearce and her stint on I'm A Celebrity, competes alongside familiar faces from Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks in the gameshow's latest episode.

Coronation Street's Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald), Emmerdale's Chris Bisson (Jai Sharma), former Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson (Donna-Marie Quinn) and Danielle all cast aside any soap rivalries by taking on the show's famous Bridge as a team.

Of course, there's also another soap connection as Bridge of Lies is hosted by former EastEnders star Ross Kemp (Grant Mitchell).

Referencing Lola's tragic death storyline, Ross asks: "Danielle, you've had a massive storyline in EastEnders. Saying goodbye to Lola must have been tough?"

Danielle replies: "Yeah, it was really difficult. A big family storyline. I was actually waiting for a visit from my Uncle Grant, but…"

Ross jokes: "Uncle Grant? I think he was on the beach in Portugal mixing cocktails, probably. Or drinking them!"

Celebrity Bridge of Lies returned last week for a new eight-part series.

The high-stakes quiz show sees Ross help steer teams of celebrities across an interactive bridge on the studio floor. Contestants are urged to step on the truths and avoid the lies, otherwise they'll risk being eliminated from the game.

Speaking recently, Ross said: "I have such a brilliant time filming the daytime version of Bridge of Lies, but there's something about the celebrity series that ramps the jeopardy up a gear.

"Maybe it's the fact that the celebs are doing it for charity… or simply that they have reputations to uphold!

"This year's series is filled with big personalities and the competition is fiercer than ever. The usual rivalries between popstars, soap stars and comics are left at the door because, as we've learned with this show, the only way you can conquer the bridge is by working effectively as a team. But remember celebrities, it's Saturday night – so let's have some fun too!"

Celebrity Bridge of Lies airs at 5.40pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
