Everyone knows that hardly anyone looks at or communicates with anyone else on the London Underground.

But try telling that to Ed Miliband.

The former Labour leader was snapped glaring at a fellow passenger in this somewhat bizarre image.

While the rest of us are free to scowl away without any fear of the whole world watching, Ed Miliband is less fortunate.

Perhaps he was wondering if the complete stranger sitting opposite was about to post his picture on Twitter?

Because that’s what’s happened, and the internet loved it.

Twitter user Rob Crego captured the scene on the Northern Line, and it’s already been shared over a thousand times.

Naturally, Twitter users were soon added extra comedy to the image.

Others were simply happy to see a celeb on the Underground.

A few upstanding tweeters were firmly on Team Ed, however, showing sympathy for the poor chap’s plight.
