Ed Sheeran has announced a string of new shows, including his first scheduled dates in his home county of Suffolk in five years.

The singer, who grew up in Framlingham, will perform in nearby Ipswich next year, having last played The Steamboat venue in 2014.

He will play two shows – on the 23 and 24 August – at Chantry Park, with 45,000 people expected to attend each night.

Sheeran has also announced two at Roundhay Park, Leeds, on the 16 and 17 August. The Yorkshire dates also have a homecoming feel for the 27-year-old who was born in Halifax.

As well as the four UK-based shows, Sheeran has been announced as the first headliner of next year’s Szidget Festival, in Budapest, Hungary.

The festival was this year headlined by UK-based pop musician Dua Lipa, who co-headlined the festival with Gorillaz, Kendrick Lamar and Arctic Monkeys.

Tickets for Sherran’s UK dates go on sale on the 27 September. Tickets are available here.
