Yahoo News Ed Sheeran's gift to six-year-old boy who invited him to his birthday party
The Shape Of You singer apologised for not being able to make it but sent a large blue box in his place.
Ed Sheeran sent a surprise delivery to a six-year-old boy who invited the singer to his birthday party.
Alexandra Lamoreaux from Utah went viral on TikTok after she shared her worries with her 74,000 followers after her son Ren invited the Shape Of You singer to his sixth birthday party.
Lamoreaux said: "My five-year-old invited Ed Sheeran to his party! Recently [he] has become obsessed with Ed Sheeran. He loves him, loves his music, and he requested an Ed Sheeran themed water party.

"So he asked me to invite Ed Sheeran to his birthday party and I said of course I will. Here's the problem. He now 100 per cent believes Ed Sheeran is coming to his birthday party.
"The confidence that Ed's gonna show up! What do I do?! He's so precious and in his mind it's just that simple. You invited him, of course he's going to come.
"So if anybody knows where I can order an Ed Sheeran costume. Or Ed if you're watching this and you just want to show up or send him a microphone - be ther best birthday ever."
A second video shows her son opening the front door to a big blue box with a label reading "To Ren, From Ed."
The box contained a guitar, a cuddly toy, a T-shirt, a signed CD and a microphone.
A handwritten card read: "Ren, sorry not to make your birthday party, hope it was great. Here's a notepad, mic, and guitar so you can start writing songs like me."
Opening the door Ren said: "It's a present. What is it gonna be? It's a big guitar!"
Lamoreaux captioned her video: "This has got to be one of the best experiences of our entire lives! My mama heart has been bursting with joy and gratitude.
"Sorry for the annoying mom voice but I was just so freaking excited for Ren I couldn’t help it!! You know Ren is genuinely happy when he goes kind of quiet like this, I love him so much.
"Will never be able to express my gratitude to every single person that made this happen for him."
Sheeran, 32, is now a father -of-two himself, with wife Cherry Seaborn.
They welcomed daughter Lyra Antarctica in August 2021 and in a second baby girl in May 2022.
After welcoming his second child Sheeran said: ""We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x."

In early 2023, while promoting his new album - [minus], Sheeran revealed that while she was pregnant Seaborn was diagnosed with a life-threatening tumour that could not be treated until after she had given birth.
