Ed Sheeran cycled home after breaking both his arms: 'I didn't realise they were broken'

Earlier this week, Ed Sheeran sparked concern when he took to Instagram to reveal that he was in hospital after being knocked off his bike whilst cycling through London.

It was later confirmed that Ed had suffered fractures to both of his arms – one in his right wrist and one in his left elbow – however, the star didn’t realise that he had been so seriously injured when the accident first occurred.

In fact, the singer has confessed that he fought through the pain and cycled home with his two fractured arms, not realising that anything was broken until the next morning.

Speaking to The Sun, Ed shared: “I got up and cycled home then went to bed and woke up in the morning in a lot of pain and then went to hospital.

“I didn’t even know anything was broken until the next morning.”

The 26-year-old singer previously announced that he has been forced to cancel some of his upcoming Asia shows, however, he is awaiting medical advice before making a final decision on the rest of his tour.

A message on his social media pages read: “A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future.

“Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that.

“Please stay tuned for more details. PS – Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged.”
