Could Little Mix be the mystery act set to perform with Ed Sheeran for a not-so-surprise duet at tomorrow night's Brit Awards?

We only speculate because the girls tweeted their support to the singer and songwriter ahead of his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance earlier today, after he revealed he would be taking on their hit 'Touch'.

The girl group posted: "ahhhh we can't wait to hear this @edsheeran we'll be listening! xx the girls xx"

Luckily, and despite the pressure, he "smashed" it - right down to Jesy Nelson's "Doo doo doo doo doot doot doo" (you know the bit).

Little Mix applauded Ed with lots of clapping emojis on Twitter, adding: "Yesssss @edsheeran smashed it! Thanks for doing #Touch x the girls x"

Ed also revealed to Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw that he won't be singing on his own at tomorrow's star-studded event - but he obviously wouldn't disclose who (hence us naturally jumping to our own conclusions...).

"I've got two things dropping on Friday that are pretty interesting," he told Nick before his Live Lounge session. "One that gets debuted at the Brits, which I think people will go a bit nuts for.

"It's something that I think nobody is expecting. I think it'll be decent. I've managed to keep it secret up until now, which is good. But tomorrow night, I think we're the penultimate act."

Nominees at the Brits include Calvin Harris, Little Mix, Skepta, Stormzy and Zayn, with performances from Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, The 1975, Little Mix and Emeli Sandé.

Dermot O'Leary and Emma Willis will be taking over hosting duties from Ant & Dec at London's O2 Arena.
