Ed Sheeran uses Instagram to thwart campaigners

Internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran has responded to the use of one of his tracks in an anti-abortion campaign without his permission.

Titled 'Small Bump' (which is taken from the 2011 album +), the song features lyrics themed around pregnancy and the relationship between a parent and the unborn child.

But after learning that anti-abortion campaigners had adopted the song, according to The Mirror, he hit back with a statement posted to Instagram Stories in which he confirmed that he hadn't given the campaigners permission to use it.

He wrote: "I've been informed that my song Small Bump is being used to promote the Pro-Life campaign, and I feel it's important to let you know I have not given approval for this use, and it does not reflect what the song is about."

In other Ed-related news, musical icon Elton John has given Ed a few words of wisdom on the topic of success.

"You have a heyday and then you have the rest, and the heyday can never be replaced. From '70 to '76, that was the heyday," he said. "After then after that I had the common sense to know I'm not going to have a No.1 every time straight away."

The 'Rocket Man' singer continued: "I knew someone else would take over. It's cyclical... Ed will go through that and I've talked to him about it.

"I've said, 'There'll come a time where this won't happen every time and you have to accept that."

The way things are going for Ed, we can't see this happening anytime soon...
