Owner of Lucky Spoke Tattoo, James Donaldson, 21, used to be a seasoned bicycle messenger who is now a professional tattoo artist who specialises in traditional style tattooing. He has been tattooing in Glasgow since 2021 and says he will still be going through Glasgow to tattoo as he has a loyal customer base, but is really excited to be working in Edinburgh also. Matt specialises in bold and nature inspired tattoos.

Dalry Bicycle Depot Co-Owner George Wallis, 32, says of the addition in their store: "We set up our independent bicycle shop in June 2023 and soon realised that operational and rental costs are forever on the rise and margins are thin. We wanted to diversify with something very different and have a wide range o services in one place."

"We initially wanted a social space for cycle messengers and riders alike. Obvious answer would be to have a café. But as we are closely linked to Throat Punch Coffee along the road we didn't want to compete, however they do supply us with their own brand of coffee. Within the messenger, retro mountain bike and custom bicycle lifestyles, tattoos are a close second interest to coffee. So all works out!"

The bike shop specialises in custom builds and now, have their very own tattoo studio in the back. They offer bicycle repairs, servicing, parts and accessories. Lucky Spoke Tattoo offer custom tattoos from a range of artists and styles that you can get while your bike is being serviced- ideal!
