Edinburgh train passengers face chaos after vehicle strikes bridge and closes line

Edinburgh trains have been impacted after a vehicle collided with a bridge near a busy line on Friday morning.

ScotRail warned passengers travelling to and from Edinburgh that the line was closed between Edinburgh Park and Linlithgow at around 9.45am on June 28.

They confirmed a road vehicle struck a bridge, with Network Rail rushing to the scene to carry out safety inspections.

It is not yet known whether there have been any injuries.

ScotRail wrote on X, formally known as Twitter: "We have received reports of a road vehicle striking a bridge between Edinburgh Park and Linlithgow.

"The line is currently closed while Network Rail Scotland are carrying out safety inspections to the bridge."
