Egyptians Prepare for Pope Historical Visit to Cairo

As Pope Francis headed to Egypt on April 28 for the first time in 17 years, Egyptians prepared to welcome him under strict security measures.

The pope would not travel in an armored vehicle during his visit to Cairo, but security would be tightened, an Egyptian security source told Al-Arabiya.

In a tweet by the pope, he said he was coming to Egypt as a “pilgrim of peace."
