Yahoo News Elle Fanning and Sofia Coppola Reunite for Suntory Roku Gin’s ‘Come Alive With the Seasons’ Campaign Highlighting Fresh, Floral Flavors
Elle Fanning and Sofia Coppola reunited for a new campaign in collaboration with House of Suntory for the beverage company’s Ruku Gin “Come Alive With the Seasons” campaign. Fanning stars in the campaign under the direction of longtime collaborator Coppola.
Roku Gin has a unique taste and elemental makeup that harkens back to its origins in Japan. The taste of Roku Gin featured in this latest House of Suntory campaign highlights a seamless blend of fresh floral flavors, evocative of the spring and summer seasons. The idiosyncratic flavor is achieved by combining six Japanese botanicals — including Sakura flower, Sakura leaf, Sencha tea, Gyokuro tea, Sansho pepper and Yuzu peel — with eight traditional gin botanicals.

“It is amazing to be partnering with The House of Suntory’s Roku Gin. Their commitment to craftsmanship, nature and attention to detail is why Roku Gin is inspiring,” Fanning said of the collaboration.
“And working alongside my friend Sofia again to showcase the beautiful concept of shun through our Roku Gin ‘Come Alive With the Seasons’ campaign vignette has been particularly special to me.”
The campaign, which includes imagery and video, puts an emphasis on nature in a fast-paced digitally saturated world. Evoking a simpler relationship between an individual and the world around them, Coppola’s discerning eye and Fanning’s striking star power combine to give the campaign a contemplative, feminine aesthetic.
House of Suntory began with the Yamazaki Distillery in 1923, making it the oldest malt whisky distillery in Japan’s history. Over the course of its 101-year history, Suntory developed a unique taste in the beverage world. Along with Roku Gin, the beverage company is known for other spirits as Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushu, Chita, Kakubin, Toki, Ao World Whisky, Legent Bourbon and Haku Vodka.
Coppola and Fanning first worked together in 2010 on the film “Somewhere.” The pair reunited in 2017 for Coppola’s adaptation of “The Beguiled,” which costarred the Oscar-winning screenwriter’s other longtime collaborator, Kirsten Dunst. Coppola published her first book, “Sofia Coppola Archive: 1999-2023,” in September 2023.
