Elliot Page fans called the star "inspiring" after he shared that he is living his life "for the first time" following his gender transition.

The star used to be known as Ellen Page but in 2020 told fans that he was a trans man and revealed that his new name was Elliot.

He has now opened up in a moving interview with the BBC, saying: "I do feel like I'm really living my life for the first time. I'm just happy. Just getting to wake up and walk my dog and hang out with friends and feel like I'm in, really in, my body for the first time."

He also spoke about his life at an event in London, called An Evening With Elliot Page.

His comments touched fans, who said the 36-year-old Juno star seemed to be "at peace".

"Life is about being yourself and happy," one person tweeted.

"No one else's business. You can't comment on other people's feelings."

Another said Page was a "positive male role model", while one tweeted: "Love him!"

"I am happy for Elliot Page," said someone else.

"I don’t know him and I don’t even know what movies or music or whatever he does he has been in, but I see no reason to do anything with someone else’s happiness other than to celebrate it."
