Designer Emilio de la Morena is a go-to name for those who like their party dresses to stand out from the crowd.

A favourite among It-girls Jourdan Dunn and Julia Restoin Roitfeld, the Spanish designer opened proceedings on the final day of London Fashion Week this morning with a collection which disregarded the capital's usual low-key approach to after-dark dressing in favour of statement options for social butterflies.

Revered for his sculptural approach to eveningwear, the Central Saint Martins alumnus referenced the flamboyance of Valencia and Picasso's vivid colour combinations as influences.

To this end, lace LBDs were punctuated with shots of fuchsia, mint and emerald.

Brightly coloured marabou feathers were also layered underneath sheer tulle skirts in a series of full-length gowns which provided the show with its highlight.

Exaggerated ruffles - a signature calling card which stems from de la Morena's Spanish roots - also played a starring role on flounce-sleeve cocktail dresses.

The final day of the capital's fashion event offers the chance for London's most exciting up-and-coming design stars to step into the spotlight. Later on today, bright young things Isa Arfen and Marques Almeida will also unveil their latest collections.
