Emmerdale actor Mark Jordon has been charged with grievous bodily harm and assault after he allegedly attacked a 67-year-old man in a pub.

Jordon, who plays Daz Spencer in the ITV soap, is accused of biting fellow customer Andy Potts on the face in a fight at the Farrars Arms in Oldham, Greater Manchester, in July.

The actor was initially arrested and then released under investigation, but has now been charged.

Mr Potts was treated for facial injuries following the alleged incident

Police confirmed to The Sun: “Jordon is charged with GBH and common assault.”

He’s reportedly set to appear in front of magistrates in November.

A source on Emmerdale told the newspaper: “It’s very serious. Producers are concerned and weighing up what to do.

“It’s possible Mark will be suspended — and if found guilty his days would be numbered.”

A spokesperson for ITV told MailOnline that it is ‘a personal matter’.

Jordon previously starred as PC Phil Bellamy in Heartbeat on ITV, and is in a relationship with Emmerdale co-star Laura Norton.
