Emmerdale airs new bombshell discovery for Charles Anderson and family

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Charles Anderson and his family have been rocked by yet another bombshell revelation in Emmerdale.

The vicar's life has been crumbling ever since his estranged father Victor Anderson was released from prison and came to the village looking for closure.

After Victor convinced his granddaughter Naomi to swindle Vinny Dingle for some cash and leave the village, he revealed that his son Charles was responsible for grassing on him to police.

In Friday's episode (July 7), Claudette was still reeling over the revelation of Charles's involvement in her estranged husband's imprisonment, but Manpreet encouraged her to give her son time to explain himself.

Charles interrupted the conversation to insist that he'd done what he thought was right all those years ago. Just as it looked like another row was brewing, Ethan surprised the family by returning home.

"What's happened? What have I missed?" Ethan wanted to know.

The soap cut away as Ethan was filled in on all the family drama, and when it returned to the Andersons, Victor had asked Claudette to join him at the Woolpack for a private chat.

"I want to make things right. I want to fix things with you and with Charles," Victor insisted.

Victor claimed that he didn't hold anything against Charles, then took his wife's hand and admitted their son had done what he thought was right.

Claudette warned Victor it wasn't just Charles he'd have to win around – Ethan had come back home and he was "nobody's fool". She returned home to try to convince Charles to give his dad another chance.

The vicar was unwilling, as he reminded his mother that Victor had tried to "bleed [her] dry" over and over again. Victor apologised to Charles when he caught up with his son in the village.

Charles accused his dad of trying to manipulate them for financial gain once again, and encouraged his dad to run off like he'd done before.

Soon after this confrontation, Claudette stumbled upon Victor nearly fainting as he tried to take a seat on a nearby stoop. Although he insisted it was just as "stress headache" at first, Victor eventually came clean to his wife.

"I've got an aneurysm. An unruptured aneurysm sitting in my brain," he confessed.

Victor insisted he didn't want his son's pity, he wanted "his love" instead since his future is so uncertain. Will this tragic news change Charles's mind?
