Emmerdale couple split 'sealed' as ITV soap icon admits 'they won't pull through'

Emmerdale's Charlotte Bellamy, who portrays Laurel Thomas, joined Lorraine on her ITV morning show and seemingly revealed the fate of her character following a collapse.

In the episode set to air on Wednesday (July 3), viewers will witness a harrowing moment for Laurel. After a heated argument with her husband Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) over his reluctance to disclose the truth to his half-brother Suni Sharma (portrayed by Brahmdeo Shannon), Laurel's anger prompts her to send Jai away.

Left alone, Laurel's situation rapidly deteriorates as she begins to feel dizzy and subsequently collapses. Overcome with fear and unable to move, Laurel is left helpless as her phone rings out of reach.

The drama intensifies when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), Laurel's stepdaughter, discovers her gasping for breath and urgently pleads with her to call an ambulance.

Meanwhile, Jai decides it's time to come clean to Suni and attempts to broach the subject at The Hide, despite Suni's oblivious chatter, reports the Express.

However, Jai's focus is shattered by persistent calls from Gabby, leading to a sudden outburst of anger which quickly dissipates upon hearing of Laurel's plight. The incident raises the question: has the burden of Jai's secret proved too much for Laurel?

During the interview, Lorraine probed Charlotte about what lies ahead for Laurel, expressing concern with the remark: "I hope she's okay.."

Charlotte hinted, stating: "Yeah, I hope she's okay... but I think she'll pull through. I don't know about her and Jai though.." Recent episodes saw Laurel confronting her spouse Jai over his dubious antics with Eric Pollard.

Fans would recall that Amit tragically ended Rishi Sharma's (Bhasker Patel) lifeJai's fatherafter abruptly shoving him down the stairwell. Subsequently, Jai banished Amit from the village besides insisting that he relinquish any inheritance claims over the HOP to Suni, hence transferring all equity interests solely to him.
