Emmerdale fans think the "Dingle women are coming to the rescue" as Charity got "very close" to the truth about Tom abusing Belle in tonight's episode.

As viewers of the ITV show will know, Tom King has been abusing and controlling Belle Dingle since the start of their relationship. Belle recently had an abortion but told husband Tom that she had a miscarriage.

Tom then ended up in hospital himself after being electrocuted. As Belle was about to escape, Tom returned home early from the hospital in a wheelchair and began constantly questioning her about the miscarriage. Tom had already worked out that Belle had had an abortion, and the constant talk of the miscarriage was just a trap to try and get her to admit it, which she did, only for Tom to become furious.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap , Tom’s continuous campaign of abuse and manipulation against Belle left viewers “infuriated”. As Belle went upstairs to get their dog Piper ready for a walk, Tom staged a fall from his wheelchair and cried out for Belle’s help, saying that he “must have lost his balance” in a desperate attempt to try and keep Belle inside the house with him.

Jimmy King and wife Nicola then came round to the house to cook dinner for the couple. Nicola brought out a box of baby clothes which she’d used for her own daughter, Angelica, but the thoughtful gesture didn’t get the reaction she was expecting.

Belle and Tom were forced to tell Jimmy and Nicola that they had lost the baby. Tom covered for Belle and told them that she had a miscarriage. Nicola apologised about bringing the baby clothes round and said “she never would have” if she’d known that she was no longer pregnant.

Later in the episode, when Belle asked Tom why he’d “covered” for her, he said it’s because he was too ashamed to admit the truth, before he told her “you don’t half make it hard for me to love you sometimes Belle”. Tom then told her that family and friends aside, all that really matters is the two of them.

A concerned Charity then knocked on the door to try and speak to Belle privately about the miscarriage - after previously experiencing one herself. As an infuriated Tom listened in, Charity told her “I never get to see you on your own anymore,” but Belle refused to leave the house, because “Tom needs her”.

Charity then took drastic action and raised her concerns about Belle to the other Dingle women. She told Chas and Lydia Dingle about the miscarriage, saying she “thinks there’s more to it” and that it feels like the family never get to see Belle without Tom anymore. Charity even brought up Tom’s previous stalking of Chaz and said: “Something’s not right, it’s not adding up and if Belle needs our help, we’re stepping in.”
