Emmerdale is planning a new proposal storyline for Bernice Blackstock and Liam Cavanagh, following on from their shock split last week.

The show has spent weeks teasing Liam's (Jonny McPherson) possible dark side as Bernice grew suspicious over her boyfriend's unusual behaviour and jumped to the conclusion that he was a serial killer.

However, Liam soon revealed that he was actually hiding the fact that he was a murder mystery party enthusiast and as he struggled to forgive Bernice (Samantha Giles) for thinking he could be a killer, the pair soon split up.

In upcoming scenes, a dejected Bernice uses the Wild West event she's been planning to raise money for the local hospital in her plans to win Liam back.

Although Liam initially insists he won't be attending the fundraiser, Bernice manages to convince him by sharing that she's given him the role of sheriff.

Of course, Bernice's sister Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is then upset that she hasn't been given the role, but Bernice explains that she's planning to propose to Liam later on.

As the villagers all admire each others' Western outfits, Bernice's complaints about the lack of horses are soon forgotten about when Liam comes riding in.

While Rishi offers to store the charity fundraising takings it in the factory safe, Sheriff Liam announces that there will be a surprise at the end of the day – but even he doesn't know what that is.

Will Bernice's proposal go to plan?

Emmerdale currently airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with extra episodes at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
