Emmerdale spoilers: Choking horror for Marlon, plus Billy suffers a racist attack
On Emmerdale next week Marlon takes a turn for the worse, plus Ethan is under pressure.
It's your spoiler guide to Emmerdale for 25-29 April 2022:
Marlon’s tough homecoming
Marlon comes home but all does not go to plan, with fraught scenes finding April helping her dad to a drink of water, only for him to start choking.
Both father and daughter are left shocked by this event, with April then arranging to spend time at a friend’s house the following day rather than being at home. It’s a move that leaves Marlon despairing at the stress his condition is placing on his family and he grows adamant that he ought to return to hospital.

Rhona then attempts to mediate, but a tearful April eventually requests to speak to Marlon alone. But can she convince her dad to stay with them at home? And what surprise help does Bear end up offering?
Ethan finds his loyalties tested
Ethan’s personal life is looking positive: he’s moving into Tall Trees and Marcus is happy to help him. But problems soon arise when it comes to Ethan’s profession, thanks to a new client by the name of Jordan who’s been arrested on suspicion of assault.
As it turns out, Billy is currently lying beaten up in hospital after sustaining serious injuries – and it soon becomes clear that he is Jordan’s victim. After weighing up the situation, Ethan declares that, although there’s no conflict of interest, Jordan may want to seek alternative representation.
But Jordan is clear: he wants Billy as his brief. However, fans can expect Ethan to be left wrestling with a dilemma when Billy reveals that the attack on him was racially motivated. Harriet is then seen suggesting that Ethan withdraw from the case as it’s likely to impact on his personal relationships. But will the village’s legal eagle prioritise his loyalties or his career?
Teens Noah and Amelia are both keeping secrets
While Chloe is distracted in the Woolpack, a sneaky and increasingly sinister Noah seizes the opportunity to steal her phone. But what is he up to?
Amelia, meanwhile, is annoyed when Kerry makes a joke about the amount of filters she uses on her photos. But it soon becomes obvious to us (if not to Kerry) that there’s a worrying reason behind Amelia’s behaviour…
Jai hits rock bottom
Jai is set to experience the week from hell. First, he gets demoted by Kim after joining staff on the picket line outside the HOP. And then, just when it looks as though Laurel and he are set to get properly reunited, she finds a packet of drugs which she believes to be his.
A confused Jai is left floundering and fails to come up with a convincing explanation – all of which leads to Laurel assuming his reaction to be an admittance of guilt. And when Rishi compounds the matter by revealing that the kids recently found Jai just at the moment when he was about to relapse, Laurel’s anger boils over.
By the week’s end, a broken Jai will have lost all he holds dear. And just when it looks as though it couldn’t get any worse, events conspire against him even further.
