Emmerdale spoilers: Disaster strikes on Marlon and Rhona’s wedding day, plus new love cheat revealed

There’s a health crisis for Marlon on Emmerdale on the day he’s due to marry Rhona next week, plus Laurel and Gabby are both seeing the same man.

Will Marlon get to the church on time?

It really is a wonder that anyone decides to get married in soapland, as there’s always a last-minute hitch. And true to form, things are going awry in Emmerdale when, at his impromptu stag do, Marlon’s legs give way from under him and he falls to the ground.

Paddy then pleads with his best mate to be seen at the hospital, and Marlon agrees – but only on the condition there be no ambulance and that Rhona is kept out of the loop. Doctors, though, are soon delivering bad news: Marlon will have to stay in overnight due to test results which indicate he has extremely high blood pressure.

As the day of the wedding dawns, those readings have failed to come down, and Marlon is told by the medics that he cannot be discharged. As Paddy tries to keep Marlon calm, the two of them find their stress levels spiking as they start to fear that the nuptials will have to be cancelled…

Rhona set to discover all?

Attempts will be made to keep bride-to-be Rhona in the dark about Marlon’s health crisis, as both Mary and Vanessa try to delay her from attending the church. However, their efforts fail and, after Rhona rocks up, she soon starts to suspect that something is wrong.

Vanessa will then be seen trying to reassure Rhona, but her fears are only allayed when Paddy arrives on the scene, whizzing Marlon in a pimped-up wheelchair towards her. With the two guys now in their wedding suits, it seems that the big day can finally unfold as planned, and everyone in attendance gets emotional as Marlon and Rhona exchange their vows.

Priya dances her cares away

The day also turns into one of major celebration for Priya who, as we’ve seen, has been fretting about the signs of her injuries being visible to the partygoers.

But as the wedding party gets underway, she’ll be seen whipping off her jacket to reveal the scars beneath, before she dances confidently among her fellow revellers.

Kit is a two-timing love cheat

Just as Gabby is about to give up on online dating, the good-looking ‘Chris’ pops up. But this potential match turns out to be a familiar face: Kit.

He, though, doesn’t appear to have any qualms about juggling both Gabby and Laurel. However, things get potentially awkward when Laurel suggests a double date to Gabby with their new beaus. Kit, though, manages to avoid trouble by telling Laurel that he’d been planning on cooking a meal just for the two of them.

Later on, Kit resorts to sending Gabby a message apologising for his tardiness, but when Laurel makes a seductive pass, he’s seen weighing up his options. By the end of the evening, Kit has finally found his way to Home Farm, where he’s forced to eat a second dinner, this time prepared by Gabby. But just as she’s about to lead him upstairs, Laurel unexpectedly arrives on the scene. Is Kit about to be caught out?
